Swinging has been around for a long time. There were periods in ancient Rome when it was quite popular. Julia, the daughter of the Emperor Augustus was famous/infamous for her dalliances. People were always surprised that all five of her children looked just like her husband. While at a convention I ran accross the book, "The Ethical Slut: A Guide to Infinite Sexual Possibilities" by Dossie Easton and Catherine A. Liszt (a pseudonym of Janet Hardy), and realized someone had written just what I believed in my heart; that it was possible to be free in my sexual behaviour while still maintaining an ethical standard.

This book is funny and smart and informative. Wikipedia has a whole article about it.

I looked up swing in a dictionary recently. There were 22 different definitions, some verbs, some nouns. My favorite one is to live in a lively, modern, relaxed style. A swinger has all these attributes. He wants to live life, not watch it or let it pass by. She's a forward thinker, able to think outside the box. They really appreciate the pleasurable, physical, part of life. This relaxed attitude allows them to connect with others in meaningful ways.

When you graph the heartbeat of a healthy person it produces an image that dances all over the page. But when you approach death your heart becomes like a metronome with a monotonous beat. So, a really regular heartbeat reveals a life of sameness and smallness. Swingers really know how to dance. I've never been to a swingers club where the exuberance and joy of being with others didn't explode on the dance floor. And the energy it raises just ignites the entire room. Young in heart, young in mind. There is no better place to be than in a Swinger Community that will keep you dancing a long time.
